Basel. Canton silver "Judgment of Solomon" Medal ND (c. 1650) MS63 NGC, SM-1199. A large and high-relief rendition of a quite dramatic scene: Solomon seated at his throne, preceded by three elders and facing a soldier holding a naked infant. The reverse has a detailed "City View" representation of Basel. Only the second we have located auctioned in the last couple of decades, this toned choice medal stands as the sole finest graded by NGC.
