Description

Nicholas I gold Proof "Bare Head" 100 Perpera 1910 PR62 Cameo PCGS, Vienna mint, KM12, Fr-1, Viščević-10. Proof Mintage: 25. Bare Head, Facing Right. A classic rarity from the fleeting Montenegrin series, this stunning near-choice example in exceedingly scarce Proof designation boasts a total issuance of only 25 specimens, according to the Standard Catalog of World Coins. The scarcer of the two types for this date/denomination combination, where even business strikings of the "Bare Head" are hotly contested in comparable designations. Of note are some subtle haymarking and contact marks witnessed to the field, highlighted by the sheer reflectivity of this warmly patinated specimen, likely precluding it from a choice designation yet doing little to detract from the clearly superior visual character. An offering that will doubtlessly be met with great collector enthusiasm.
