Saxony. Friedrich August II gold Proof Medallic Ducat 1847-Dated (1870) PR62 Cameo NGC, KM-Unl., Fr-2896, Schlumberger-850.2. Dated 1847, the type was in fact struck several decades later, around 1870, intended as a prize for the annual archery festival. Quite rare, as only 70 were struck in total, the offering exhibits rippled golden fields, which serve as a mirrored backdrop to lightly frosted devices.
