Louis XIV gold Louis d'Or 1680-A MS63 PCGS, Paris mint, KM236.1, Gad-248. A very scarce issue at this choice level of preservation, represented here in the second-highest grade assigned to the type across grading companies. This beautiful survivor boasts a centered and bold strike. The untoned, Prooflike reverse is balanced by an equally pleasing obverse, featuring slight russet coloration at the high points of the Sun King's effigy. A handful of negligible flan flaws on the reverse are noted here for the sake of accuracy,
