Description

Anne "Vigo" 1/2 Crown 1703 MS64 PCGS, KM518.2, S-3580, ESC-1358. A most wondrous offering and among the finest of these coveted "Vigo" issues the cataloger has had the pleasure of handling. Bordering on Prooflike and dressed in a pondlike resplendence that cascades across both faces, producing a hearty lavender, peach, and cerulean tint. Struck from silver bullion seized from the Spanish at Vigo Bay and proudly embossed "Vigo" below Anne's sensitively rendered bust to denote the silver's origin. As it stands, the piece at hand is bested by no other, both conditionally or aesthetically, and will likely remain tied with just a single other in MS64 for years to come.
