"Brewers & Allied Traders International Exhibition" gold Specimen First Prize Medal ND (1902) SP64 PCGS, 38.71gm. 9-karat gold. An eccentric offering, struck on the occasion of the 1902 Brewers & Allied Traders International Exhibition to celebrate the First Prize winner of the ginger ale competition for mineral water manufacturers. This First Prize was awarded to the Home Brewery Company from Daybrook, Nottingham. The specimen exhibits intensely mirrored fields that have developed a rich tangerine tone, which enhance the design of a maiden pouring beer into a goblet on the obverse and the competition information on the reverse. Sold with the original case fitted by Sully & Ranger, Goldsmiths & Jewellers, London E.C. and Paris.
