Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel. August II "Wildman" Taler 1643-HS AU55 NGC, Zellerfeld mint, KM-Unl., Dav-6338, Welter-819. A more challenging date for this cherished design, owing to August the Younger's introduction of the famed Bell Taler series the same year. Exceeded by a single Mint State specimen at NGC, this type-date was curiously absent from the Preussag Collection, with the general level of detail seen here suggesting a piece very near to uncirculated status.
