Description

Baden. Leopold I Taler 1836 MS66+ NGC, Karlsruhe mint, KM204, Dav-522, AKS-85, Thun-22, Müseler-228. An always collectible type from the highly contested mining genre, indicated by the reverse vignette of a fully struck-up griffin clasping a shield bearing tools. Celebrating yields from various mines in the region and enlivened by pervasive burnt sienna silhouettes, we anticipate bidding consistent with the recent surge in demand for superior aesthetic specimen from the German series. Ex. D. Moore Collection (Heritage Auction #3051, January 2017, Lot 32115) From the Cape Coral Collection of German Coins, Part I
