Description

Hadrian (AD 117-138). AV aureus (19mm, 6.94 gm, 5h). NGC Choice VF 5/5 - 4/5, light marks. Rome, ca. AD 124-128. HADRIANVS-AVGVSTVS, laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Hadrian right, seen from behind / COS III, Hadrian on horseback prancing right, cloak flying behind him, couched spear in right hand. RIC II 187e. RIC II.3 773. Calicó 1226. Nicely centered and attractive. Hints of light orange toning on lustrous surfaces.
