Description

Republic Li Yuan-hung Dollar ND (1912) UNC Details (Cleaned) PCGS, Wuchang mint, KM-Y320, L&M-43, Kann-638a, Chang-CH130, WS-0089A. Type with hat, without traces of reworking on OF from OE. By far the more challenging of the two primary Dollar types issued during Li Yuan-hung's tenure as Vice President of the Republic, seen here executed from an expertly performed strike, to such a level that the noted cleaning seems to almost be a moot point; the only significant trace of this on the coin is a slightly unnatural tone of electric pinks, seafoam, and orange. The reverse die in particular seems to have been very carefully prepared, no traces of the usual retouching on the F of OF visible, all while die polish lines the fields. From the Ta Han MCC Collection
