Brunei Government of Brunei 1000 Dollars 1976 Pick UNL Front and Back Archival Proof PMG Choice Uncirculated 64 (2). The second Archival Proof offered in this sale, and is almost identical in design to the previous lot, but as a 1000 Dollars. It features Sultan Bolkiah I on the face and the Omar Ali Saifuddien mosque on the back. Curiously, neither the $500 or $1000 were issued for the 1967 series, and were only introduced in 1979. One can only speculate that it was decided that there was no need for these denominations, perhaps cause they represented too much money. Both Proofs are mounted on cardstock and have Printer's annotations. An interesting rendition of an unissued note.
