The Colombia book was fiercely bid upon and not available for sale again for over twenty five years. This is from the initial American Bank Note Company printed series for Colombia. The note's size and layout style was clearly influenced by American Obsolete banknotes that were still being printed at the time. Uniface India paper Proof mounted on large record book binder sheet. The design layout is spectacular and well balanced with curved titles. Plantation house at the upper left. Salmon overprints with numerical and textual protectors. There were 50,000 issued notes authorized October 1862. A bold and fresh proof with plate array and date printed on the page. To our knowledge, there were no individual proofs of this type in the 1990 ABN sale and no other known proofs previously.
