A beautiful banknote, and the highest denomination of this series issued by the Banque Centrale du Congo Belge et du Ruanda-Urundi. All dates for the type feature the prefix "A", indicating how few of these types were printed and issued. Do not mistake this original example with the overprinted variety that was issued for the Congo Democratic Republic in 1962. Pinholes are mentioned on this example, which has an excellent overall presentation nevertheless. In fact, this is the plate note for the Belgian Congo chapter of Owen Linzmayer's The Banknote Book.
