Philip II Cob 8 Reales ND (1581-1586) P-B AU53 NGC, Potosi mint, KM0005.1, Cal-672, Paoletti-75. 27.33gm. Simply incredible preservation for any Potosi Cob of this period, both in terms of its execution and technical preservation. Numerically exceeded by only a small cluster of AU55's at NGC, this piece displays an incredible clarity for the type, doubling all but absent from the legends and occurring only mildly in the central features. Still lustrous and remarkably well-centered, and a coin that will afford even the scrupulous collector little grounds for complaint.
