Louis XV 9 Deniers 1721-B VF25 Brown NGC, Rouen mint, KM5.1, Br-507 (R4), Lec-190. An exceedingly collectible issue, rising to prominence due to its use throughout the Louisiana territory, and witnessed in a thoroughly appreciable state of preservation, with many surviving examples marred by numerous conditional qualifiers, generally environmental in nature, and notably lacking on the present piece. Rich chocolate tones permeate this offering, displaying evidence of moderate handling to cap the assigned grade. While a few minor scratches decorate both faces, this does little to detract from the overall appeal of this scarce colonial issue. Ex.
