Louis XV 9 Deniers 1721-B VF30 Brown NGC, Rouen mint, KM5.1, Br-507 (R4), Lec-190. Struck during the time of John Law's coining monopoly in France at the Rouen mint for use in the French Colonies, and displaying an appreciable tier of preservation regardless of the seemingly minor porosity and striking weakness to the left side of the obverse. Certainly the scarcer of the two mints for this rare colonial issue, especially when seen without surface issues that often accompany the series. Smooth chestnut fields abound this wonderful survivor, dressed in an advanced visual character likely to interest both French and US collectors alike.
