Louis XIII 1/4 Ecu 1642-A MS62 NGC, Paris mint, KM134.1, Gad-48 (R), Dup-1351. Draped and cuirassed bust, rose variety. Certified just shy of Choice Mint State, an impressive feat for any fractional Ecu of this vintage, and only the second submitted to NGC, the other being a lowly VF. The example at hand displays a most attractive charcoal patina enhanced by cornflower-blue accents to the protected regions.
