Philippe IV (1285-1314) gold Agnel d'Or ND (from 1311) MS62 NGC, Paris mint, Fr-258, Ciani-199, Dup-212. 4.10gm. Emission from 26 January 1311. +AGn DI QVI' TOLL PCCA MVDI MISЄRЄRЄ nOB (without stops), nimbate Agnus Dei left, head right, a long cross with banner behind; Ph' RЄX in the exergue, star below / +XP'C • VInCIT • XP'C • RЄGNAT • XP'C • IMPЄRAT, cross fleurée within quadrilobe with lis in spandrels. Unusually fine quality for the type, this appealing small gold issue presently stands tied with one other for the finest yet seen by NGC, with only a single piece ranking a point higher at PCGS. Just slightly flat atop the very highest points of the design, the coin omits not the least bit of detail from the strike, which appears just slightly off-center on its undersized flan.
