A sharp Medal of imposing high relief, struck as an award of merit for the arts and sciences. The obverse features the bust of Peter II, Grand Duke of Oldenburg, whose visage stands above the mirrored fields to such a depth as to project forth with memorable impact. The reverse exhibits an abundance of die polish lines in the open expanses, which themselves display clear reflectivity to several inches.
