Canada Dominion of Canada, Montreal $1 1.7.1870 DC-2a-i PMG Choice Fine 15. This rare and desirable note is one of three Dominion issues of 1870. The back of the note indicates which city was responsible for the note. There two signatures at bottom and a manuscript countersigned signature in the left front margin. This Montreal issue is very rare as it features the large date variation at front, which we have not offered in the past. Seriously rare and an important variety in this series. Missing from many collections due to its rarity. Of note, there is also a small and large date variety for Toronto-payable notes as well.
