The Bahamas Government ceased its banknotes operation and formed the Monetary Authority in 1968. In order to promote Bahamas banknotes, and collect USD in the process, the Monetary Authority created and sold Specimen sets. This would certainly be the most affordable method to acquire all designs of this series, some of which are prohibitively rare in issued form. Each note has solid zero serial numbers and red overprints on both sides. Simply beautiful, this set represents one of the most desirable Queen Elizabeth II series.
