Description

British Colony. Victoria Proof Cent 1876 PR65 Red PCGS, Heaton mint, KM4.1, Prid-169A, Sweeny-HK2. Medal alignment. Exceedingly attractive and scarce as a Proof, especially so bestowed a coveted and appropriate Red designation. A nearly medallic strike elevates the meticulously engraved details of the iconic Gothic bust of Victoria, propelling her towards the viewer upon illumination. Wholly enveloped in a uniform tangerine patina dressed in warm undertones and ample reflectivity lending to a subtle cameo-like effect. Between the major grading services, the example at hand remains tied for the finest among a mere 3 examples assigned the elite Red designation, and as such, is expected to draw significant attention.
