Description

Yunnan. Republic Tael ND (1943-1944) MS62 PCGS, KM-X3 (prev. KM-A3; under French-Indo China), L&M-435, Kann-939, Lec-325. Small deer head type. Struck for use in French Indo-China. Iconic as a type and especially sought-after in this grade, with most pieces rarely escaping the mid-AU range on the high end; indeed, the Cape Coral specimen certified only 2 grade points finer. Precluding from a finer technical certification on account of the usual light surface chatter so often seen for the issue, the offering nonetheless retains a strongly pervasive luster with only a small dappling of tone to the reverse.
