Description

Kirin. Kuang-hsü Dollar CD 1903 MS61 NGC, Kirin mint, KM-Y183a.2, L&M-547, Kann-468, Chang-CH111, WS-0465, Wenchao-484. Variety with dragon's left claw not touching cloud. The first Mint State-graded example of the issue we have had the privilege to offer, and one of only around a dozen or so certified. Imbued with icy elements across the surfaces, this piece preserves ample satin texture around the devices, all while a prominent cartwheel luster easily traverses the planchet when tilted under good light. Whereas many of the silver Dollars minted in Kirin during this period come unevenly struck or poorly preserved, this offering certainly stands as an outlier.
