Kiangnan. Kuang-hsü Dollar CD 1902 MS63 PCGS, Nanking mint, KM-Y145a.8, L&M-247, Kann-93, Chang-CH78, WS-0844. Variety with HAH and slanted dot at the top of Yin. A remarkable issue in Choice Mint State preservation, with PCGS only having seen 5 finer, one by a slim margin of its "plus" designation, and the others by just a single grade point. Comparison with both specimens from the Patrick Tan Collection clearly support this coin's technical superiority, the finer of those two being an MS62, while the other, an MS61--the next nicest example of the subvariety we have offered--bringing $13,145 in our December 2015 sale #3043. The offering benefits enormously from a sound strike accentuated by a plethora of mint luster, a dash of russet orange tone across the obverse (reverse as holdered) heightening its overall eye appeal while creating a truly one-of-a-kind character.
