Description

Hupeh. Kuang-hsü Dollar ND (1895-1907) MS64 PCGS, Wuchang mint, KM-Y127.1, L&M-182, Kann-40a, WS-0873. Variety with broken English letters in legend. Among the finest survivors of this type yet seen by PCGS, with a mere 2 technically ranking finer by virtue of their added "plus" designations. Frosty white and virtually tone-free, this piece contains an incredibly crisp finish for the issue--a fine texturing of tiny flow lines overlying surfaces that positively beam with mint luster. To date, we have offered just 2 comparable pieces, one stemming from the Patrick Tan Collection, and the other part of our June 2019 Hong Kong sale. Simply not a conditional tier that is easy to procure, and one which is sure to inspire strong competition as such.
