Anhwei. Kuang-hsü 10 Cents Year 24 (1898) MS65 NGC, Anking mint, KM-Y42.3, L&M-202, Kann-60, WS-0179, Wenchao-711 (rarity 1 star). Variety with T.A.S.C. on obverse (reverse as holdered). A coin which more than earns its incredible Gem Mint State designation from NGC, appearing extraordinarily satiny and pristine across the surfaces with just a touch of mottled tone against otherwise pearly white color. What is even more impressive is the presence of pronounced vertical die polish lines around the reverse dragon, not a feature encountered with any regularity in the machine-made Imperial series. To date, this specimen remains exceeded by only 2 examples a point finer across both NGC and PCGS, with the Wa She Wong example grading as a mere XF Details, and the Daniel Ching piece as an MS63.
