SCYTHIA. Olbia. Ca. 470-460 BC. Cast AE (75mm, 255.45 gm, 12h). Fine, flan flaw, light bronze disease. Head of Athena left, wearing crested Attic helmet; dolphin upward to left, all within incuse circle / Solar disc wheel with four spokes. Anokhin 155. Frolova & Abramzon -. Extremely rare. From the GK Collection Anokhin 155-7 are various denominations of these "wheel" type coins that have no magistrate's name. It is possible the absence of the name is due to the poor condition of the coins listed. None of the standard references contain a series without a magistrate's name (the Frolova & Abramzon coin is also of poor quality), and it is possible there are letters within the spokes on the reverse on the mold, but did not cast well.
