Fengtien. Kuang-hsü Dollar Year 24 (1898) XF Details (Chopmarked, Rim Filing) NGC, Fengtien Machine Factory mint, KM-Y87, L&M-471, Kann-244, Chang-CH90. A classically elusive dragon Dollar type that is rarely locatable outside of Details grades, usually due to chopmarking or cleaning. Despite the chopmarks present on this example, they do little to take away from the charm of this very desirable type, which retains gunmetal surfaces with traces of golden toning.
