From the 1715 Plate Fleet. A classical Cob from colonial Mexico owing both to its relatively early date and the accompanying association with the famed 1715 Plate Fleet, Calicó stating that only a few specimens are known in his book, La Onza. While the luster of the surfaces has been mildly muted owing to its noted time spent underwater, this has done nothing to hamper the coin's natural appeal, die polish still remaining quite prevalent, and the struck detail retaining a great amount of clarity for the type and series more broadly. A better appreciation of the offering's original resplendence can be gleaned from the reverse, where flow lines are easily visible even without the aid of magnification, this accompanied by a clear and full date to wit.
