Qing Dynasty. Bagongbao Like ("Eight-Votive-Treasures") Buddhist Presentation Sycee of 1 Tael ND XF (Scuffs), cf. Cribb-XCI.A.1281 (no reverse inscription). 28x25mm. 35.95gm. Displaying Royal Parasol shape. A very rare ingot type, believed by Cribb to have been used in Buddhist offerings on the basis of their imagery, the parasol symbolic of protection from the sufferings of the three lower realms of existence. To the best of our knowledge, this is only the third example of this design to become available in recent years, and only the second not bearing an era stamp on the reverse since 2012. This lot can be submitted to Gong Bo Grading for certification after the auction at the buyer's request. If you would like to exploit this option, please contact HK@HA.com.
