China People's Bank of China 5 Yuan 1948 Pick 801a S/M#C282-3 PCGS Banknote Choice UNC 64 OPQ. Simply excellent paper is seen on this small sized and low denomination note from the 1948 People's Bank Series. This was one of the first denominations issued. It was quickly supplemented by additional denominations of much greater face value. Inflation continued to increase at an almost unprecedented pace for the time period, quickly rendering these small denominations worthless. The few saved are coveted in Uncirculated grade.
