A gorgeous serial number 89 presentation note of the first issue from the Commonwealth of Australia. The presentation notes were comprised of the first hundred notes from the issue, and were given only to members of government and their families. The pinhole in the upper margin is typical, as the original letter from Secretary to the Treasury George T. Allen was pinned to the note in this location. Unfortunately, the letter is not included in this lot. Maintained in an excellent state of preservation, this lovely rarity is one of only two notes registered in the PMG Population Report and both share the same grade. A historical piece which will be a highlight in any collection.
