Ex Goldberg, Auction 110 (2 June 2019), lot 1835 Among the honors voted by the Roman Senate in 27 BC to Augustus was the Clipeus Virtutis, or shield of valor, which was given, along with branches of laurel, to a soldier who had saved the life of a comrade in battle.
