Republic gold Pattern 20 Centesimos 1942-So UNC Details (Cleaned) NGC, Santiago mint, KM-Pn42, cf. Lezama-Plate XL. A superb off-metal strike of this typically silver denomination, standing as the first example we have offered and only the second to have come to auction in recent decades according to our research--the last being lot 2696 in CNG's January 2016 sale of the Lawrence Adams Collection. Notably, this gold type was missing from the Eliasberg Collection, and it has been suggested that perhaps as few as 10 were originally produced.
