Nürnberg. Free City gold 2 Ducat MDCC (1700)-GFN UNC Details (Surface Hairlines) NGC, KM259, Fr-1882. A difficult gold multiple whose iconic imagery and medallic execution led many to suffer use in jewelry. Fortunately, this example has been spared the harsh cleaning or tooling that so often afflicts the series, its few hairlines just slightly muting the luster, while the designs remain deeply impressed.
