Description

Ferdinand VII gold Mint Error - Obverse Lamination 8 Escudos 1809 So-FJ MS61 NGC, Santiago mint, KM72, Cal-1862 (prev. Cal-113). A dramatic mint error, with a prominent flan lamination seen through the obverse devices, an issue not uncommon to these early gold 8 escudos which occasionally display inconsistent quality control. Despite the noted imperfections, the present Mint State example is in a highly desirable condition with well-rendered and fully struck designs, illuminated by lustrous surfaces, most notably to a seemingly choice reverse.
