Description

Minas Gerais. João Prince Regent Counterstamped 960 Reis ND (1808) XF45 NGC, KM243, LMB-452. Crowned arms counterstamp on the obverse, banded globe on the reverse (XF Standard), struck on a Charles IV 8 Reales 1806/5 So-FJ from Chile (cf. KM51). Aesthetically and historically interesting with a myriad of attractive characteristics: an overdate on a rare host coin, prominent counterstamps to the obverse and reverse, a surprising level of preservation, and the pleasing champagne hues imbued to the reverse. An allover inviting specimen.
