Pedro II 320 Reis 1698-(B) VF Details (Environmental Damage) NGC, Bahia mint, KM82, LMB-124, Bentes-78.09. A formidable offering from the early milled coinage of Brazil and the only certified by NGC, this piece displays even argent surfaces and astonishing detail. Despite the environmental damage designation and scattered porosity, this is surely the finest we've offered. The last time this issue was brought to auction was an uncertified example in the F/VF range from the Paulistana Collection, sold in April of 2010. An opportunity that is unlikely to reoccur in the next few years.
