Pedro II 20 Reis ND (1695-1698)-(B) AU53 NGC, Bahia mint, KM74, LMB-113, Bentes-94.01. Exhibits heavily patinated surfaces typical of these minors, enveloping the entirety of this specimen which has seen almost no actual use in circulation. An extremely rare type and infrequently seen by Brazilian collectors. The last instance we handled any of these 20 Reis pieces was from the Paulistana Collection in 2010/11, where Heritage offered two examples; the current sale includes five, with representatives from each mint. For the advanced collector interested in starting and completing a set of this highly elusive emission, this becomes an opportunity not to be missed.
