Spain Banco de Espana 100 Pesetas 1.7.1903 Pick 53a PMG Choice Very Fine 35. Rare in issued form with only three examples registered in the PMG Population Report. The issues of 1902-1905 were the first notes from the Bank of Spain that broke a tradition of portraiture on the face. The resulting designs are among the most beautiful in the world, including this 100 pesetas note. On the face are allegorical representations of Industry and Agriculture. The incredible engraving of a man leading Pegasus adorns the entirety of the back. They are flying above the Atocha Railway Station, which had been rebuilt a few years earlier after a destructive fire. Highly desirable, especially in this grade.
