East Africa Government of the East Africa Protectorate 5 Rupees 1.9.1905 Pick 1A PMG Very Fine 25. The A/1 prefix is seen on this uniface type, which is more than a century old. The East African Rupee was issued until 1920, and was officially withdrawn in 1930, leaving only a scant few extant to be enjoyed today. All details and the watermarked paper are clearly visible. Minor staining and a bit of edge roughness are mentioned for accuracy. Only the second we have offered, this note is rare and missing from many advanced collections.
