Louis XV gold Louis d'Or Mirliton 1725-C AU53 NGC, Caen mint, KM470.4, Gad-339 (R), Breen-307 (Extremely rare and unlocated). Large palms variety. None examples of this date-mintmark combination were present in Le Chameau shipwreck, nor did Ford contain a specimen. A small number of reverse adjustment marks, with abundant mint luster on both sides. Light rubbing on the highpoints, with a very few light marks. Quite rare. Sold with old collector envelope detailing provenance. Purchased from Wade Hinderling on June 8, 1997
