Louis XV gold Louis d'Or Mirliton 1724-(9) UNC Details (Saltwater Damage) NGC, Rennes mint, KM470.25, Gad-339 (R). Long palms variety. A very rare issue, with bold strike, minor adjustment marks, and slight saltwater porosity. An exceptional coin from sea water recovery. Likely from the 1725 Le Chameau shipwreck, though we have no documentation to support this. Sold with old collector envelope detailing provenance. Ex. John J. Ford, Jr. Collection
