Alexander II gold 3 Roubles 1879 CПБ-HФ XF Details (Mount Removed) PCGS, St. Petersburg mint, KM-Y26, Fr-164 (Rare), Bit-42 (R2), Uzd-0276. An especially elusive date for the entire 3 rouble series, with a listed mintage of 5, but likely higher with the frequency these have been seen. Despite this, the 1879 is still quite rare and was likely seen as such when mounted likely for a necklace as noted by the mount removal. A piece with a pleasing, honeyed-gold pantina that is sure to attract spirited bidding.
