PHOENICIA. Tyre. Ca. 425-394 BC. AR shekel (25mm, 13.18 gm, 8h). NGC Choice XF 2/5 - 3/5. Uncertain king. Bearded deity (Melqart?), bow and arrow in left hand, reins in right, riding winged hippocamp right above waves; dolphin swimming right below, all in guilloche border / Owl standing right, head facing, flail and crook over shoulder; guilloche border. HGC 10, 315. Betlyon 17. Lockett 3226 (this coin). Deep cabinet toning with violet hues. From the Paramount Collection.
