Description

Hall. Free City Taler 1746-CGL MS65 NGC, KM32, Dav-2279. Mintage: 800. A sharply produced taler exhibiting a lovely silty patina carrying strong lilac tones, hints of iridescence noted upon rotation under light. The offering displays strong visual appeal and is marked by a firm strike that renders crisp detail throughout the design motifs, only minor scratches in the fields, including a small patch to the right of Francis's bust, limiting the impressive gem grade. Ex. Millennia Collection (Goldberg Auction 46B, May 2008, Lot 609); Irving Goodman Collection (Goldberg Auction 15, June 2002, Lot 427)
