Description

Philip V gold Cob 8 Escudos 1714 Mo-J MS62 NGC, Mexico City mint, KM57.2, Cal-108. 27.1gm. Date on obverse. Highly appealing and lustrous, with sharp edge facets that create a gemstone-like appearance, particularly to the reverse. The strike is sound for this often weaker Cob type, with clear central obverse detailing in the shield, as well as an easily legible date to the upper left. The reverse central cross is displayed with prominence, boldly outlined and lacking any traces of weakness.
