Description

Christian IX Proof "Death of Frederick VII" 2 Rigsdaler 1863 HC-RH PR66 NGC, Copenhagen mint, KM770 (unlisted in Proof), Dav-78, Hede-3, Sieg-4. Proof Mintage: 39. An exceedingly attractive selection of this highly elusive Proof striking, produced in commemoration of the change of power from Frederick VII to Christian IX. Executed to pinpoint precision, the devices rise sharply above glassy surfaces that well with bursts of cobalt, merlot, and apricot tone, capturing fully upon the brilliance of the type and very nearly warranting a 'star' designation for superior eye appeal. Either way, the single finest certified across NGC and PCGS combined, and highly desirable as such.
