Description

Franz II (I) silver "Tyrolean Defenders" Medal 1797-Dated MS66 NGC, Montenuovo-2309, Julius-3012. An unlikely conditional survivor of an important historical issue produced to commemorate the defense of Tyrol during the French Revolutionary Wars, issued to those who took up arms in support of the Austrian army in its defense of the fatherland against invading French forces. Very rare in this quality, and the finest example that we have been able to locate.
